Tomato Ramen, First!

Tomato Ramen, First!

Since this tomato ramen place opened, I have been their biggest fan. When I lived in Tokyo, I used to go there once a week between classes. I was addicted to their “taiyo-no-chiizu-ramen” (太陽のチーズラーメ), which is basically ramen with tomato soup and cheese on top. It may not sound appealing but I am sure that your “eww, that’s so weird” will become “omg, that’s so good”, once you’ve tried! So give it a go and really hope you like it!

What’s around?

It’s true that there is not much to do around Mita, but if you are interested in visiting Keio University, or Temple University Japan Campus, they are just around the corner. Otherwise for a 20 minute-walk, you can easily get to Tokyo Tower, which is fun to compare with the Eiffel Tower. In my opinion, it looks a little weaker than the one we have in Paris (but that’s just me). Let me know if you feel the same way!

If you are more into temples, then there is Zojo-ji Temple, a Buddist temple just across the tower. Believe me, you can’t miss it. I once spent New Year’s Eve there and I greatly recommend it. It’s definitely less packed than Meiji Shrine (Meiji-Jingu) and more enjoyable. In Japan, people traditionally do count downs in temples and take part in the bell ringing ceremony, which is said to bring good fortune.

For those looking for a more modern Tokyo, Roppongi Hills is around 30 mins by walk, where you can find shops, restaurants, an art museum, an observatory desk, Mori Tower (one of the tallest building of the city) and much more.

Have fun eating and exploring!
