Mexican Food and Coffee at Republique of Coffee

Mexican Food and Coffee at Republique of Coffee

Republique of Coffee, located in the 10th district of Paris, serves incredible Mexican food and, of course, tasty coffee!

I went with my friend from the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and got their lunch set. which were three tacos (or four) and a huge cup of Japanese green tea. Mine was tacos with raw tuna, pineapple, tomatoes and avocado and she got tacos with beans, tomatoes, avocado and goat cheese on top. We also had delicious kale chips to accompany our dish. The meal was not only light and healthy, but also surprisingly consistent!

The place itself is lovely, cosy and bright! Its canopy, in the front of the coffeeshop, offers fantastic lightning. This is a prefect spot for instagrammers and food photographers! Also, I personally love the light minty color of their tables and mugs. I think it adds a fresh touch to the coffeeshop.

Quote of day: “You never fail until you give up” ~

Joining international organisations is not an easy task, I will not tell you the opposite. I do consider myself very lucky.

I met Marianna when I worked at the OECD in 2015. She was an intern in the Tourism department and we both reached out the OECD soccer club. I remember the first day we met, we were both wearing pinkish clothes from head to toe (I’ll let you imagine) and from that moment, we knew we were best buddies!

After her contract ended, she constantly applied for positions within the organisation, attended conferences, had coffee with her previous colleagues and volunteered in events. She kept on doing these over and over again to build contacts and be aware of the most recent opportunities. I remember I did tell her to give up and look else where, but I am glad she didn’t listen to me (haha). After seven months of hard work and determination, she got back in the institution! She knew what she wanted and was driven. She even passed the OECD panel to become an official officer. I cannot be more proud of her and wish her all the very best for her career!
