Brunch at the summit of the butte Montmartre

Originally from Australia, Hardware Société is a nice and cosy brunch place located at the summit of the butte Montmartre.

I got off at the station Anvers, walked up the steep road and climbed up the stairs (wearing heals, I don’t know what I was thinking…) to reach the Sacré-Coeur Basilica. Up there, you can enjoy a panoramic view of Paris, as it is one of the highest spots of the city!

Then just a few steps away from the Basilica, there you go Hardware Société, which is best known for their delicious breakfast and brunch. As I had a guest visiting Paris, I thought that this place would be perfect. Killing two birds in one stone!

Everything on the menu sounded healthy and tasty. Finally, I made up my mind and ordered a confit duck with mushrooms and golden beet, and a matcha latte with oat milk. Then my friend got a seafood gribiche with two poached eggs on toast and a hot chocolate. This amazing place definitely got us! The food was freshly cooked and the staff was very friendly, but no wifi. Well, you’ll get to share more amazing human time then, like I did!

Accumulating knowledge

I met my friend Clara in the UK and we studied political science together. However, her dream is to become an actress. So after completing her degree, she signed up for intensive fashion classes and acting classes in London. She is a genuinely curious person and does everything intensively because it pressures her to be more effective. I am truely impressed because this requires a crazy amount of work and commitment.

Although some people may think “why a master degree in political science then?” That’s because she first wanted to become the President of her country! Although she almost gave up this thought and now wants to focus on screen acting, I still believe that we are never too ‘well-equipped’ or never too ‘knowledgeable’. Hence, it’s always good to learn because knowledge will never be a waste, and most importantly something that no one ever can take away from you.

Anyway, it’s a great place, where you can overlook the chimney pots of Montmartre, enjoy nice food and engage in captivating conversations. We’d go back!
