Shakshuka x2, please

Shakshuka x2, please

I noticed on social media that people were having for brunch these poached eggs in a spicy tomato sauce. Since they got very popular, I did some research and learned that it was called Shakshuka, originally from North Africa. IMA offers Red Shakshuka, which is the traditional one with tomato and chili, and Green Shakshuka with spinach and zucchini. It was thus the perfect place to try both! Although I was very tempted by their pancakes, I had to remember the reason why I came here…

Shakshuka, yes

It came with one poached egg on top and 2 pieces of bread on a side. My friend chose the red one and I got the green one. It’s not only healthy and light, but also gives you all the vitamins and energy you need for the day! I think I should have this more often because I sometimes struggle to make a solid breakfast when I have little time. However, shakshuka seems fairly easy and fast to make.

The cafe is located close to République at the end of the Canal Saint Martin. Its colorful titles give a homey feeling and reminds me of South of France. Therefore, their vegetarian and mediterranean food totally fit the environment. It was a great discovery! I would definitely go back for their pancakes…
