The Hood cafe, a cosy co-working coffeeshop

The Hood cafe, a cosy co-working coffeeshop

When my friend Julia told me that her friends opened a cafe, my first reaction was “let’s go try!” I have always loved meeting coffeeshop owners because most of them have thrilling coffee adventures to share!

We arrived around lunch time and it was already crowded as the Hood cafe is not only a coffeeshop but also a co-working space.

Located at the station Parmentier, this lovely spot offers two delicious lunch sets. My friend ordered their healthy seasonal soup made of butternut, coconut milk, sweet patato, red lentils, curry, celery and herbs. This dish is great for vegan, by the way! Then, her set also came with half of a crunchy chicken sandwich club, hummus, cheese, coriander and carrot.

I picked their yummy asian rice bowl with coconut rice, crunchy chicken, quinoa, sesame, Greek tzatsiki sauce, roasted carrot, herbs and on top of that… peanut butter sauce! Every bite was a surprise, it was a great fusion. I didn’t expect such a mix of flavors and couldn’t be more satisfied!

Besides, the set includes a soft cookie or financier, and nice coffee.

Let’s co-work!

I met Julia at a blogging event 4 years ago and since then we have been in touch. As she works as a professional graphic and web designer, she helped me out several times with my blog. She constantly gives me amazing tips on digital optimization as well! So to thank her, I teach her English. Basically, we trade skills, that’s what good friends do, right?

Julia also organizes monthly co-working events, called “Mind my co-work”, where she gathers talented freelancers, entrepreneurs or simply interesting people, who want to be productive, exchange ideas and enjoy a fine cup of coffee together.

The event is hosted nowhere else than the Hood cafe. So, join us this Thursday and stay tuned!
